Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 29, 2026
Draft for review. This template is a starting point generated to match LangParse’s product and infrastructure. It is not legal advice and must be reviewed and adapted by qualified counsel — including your legal entity name, governing jurisdiction, and regulatory obligations (e.g. GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, Australian Privacy Act) — before publishing. Any remaining bracketed items need to be completed.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Flipmind Limited (“LangParse”, “we”, “us”) handles personal data when you use our website and document-intelligence services (the “Services”). For questions, contact us at privacy@langparse.dev or PO Box 6416, Victoria St West, Auckland 1021.
2. The data we process
We process two broad categories of data:
- Account & usage data — name, work email, organization, billing details, and metadata about how you use the Services (API usage, log data, IP address, device/browser information).
- Customer documents & extracted data — the files you (or your end users) submit for processing, and the structured data we return. This may contain personal data depending on your documents. For this content you are the data controller and we act as your processor under the Terms and any Data Processing Addendum.
3. How we use data
- To provide, maintain, and secure the Services;
- To process documents and return extracted data at your instruction;
- To handle billing, support, and account administration;
- To monitor performance, prevent abuse, and improve reliability;
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your customer documents to train third-party models. Document intelligence is performed using Claude on Amazon Bedrock within our AWS environment.
4. Legal bases
Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on: performance of a contract (to deliver the Services), legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Services), consent (where required, e.g. certain cookies), and legal obligation.
5. Data residency & sub-processors
You choose the region where your organization’s documents and processing live (US or Australia today, with more on the way). We rely on a limited set of sub-processors — principally Amazon Web Services for hosting and Amazon Bedrock for model inference — and others for payments and operational tooling. A current sub-processor list is available on request at contact us.
6. Retention
We retain account data for as long as your account is active and as needed to meet legal and accounting obligations. Customer documents and extracted data are retained according to your configuration and our agreement with you, and deleted on request or after termination per the Terms.
7. Security
We apply encryption in transit and at rest, multi-tenant isolation, a hardened API behind a web application firewall, per-key rate limiting, and audited staff access. See our Security page for details.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object or withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@langparse.dev. If we process your data as a processor on behalf of a customer, we will refer your request to that customer.
9. International transfers
Your organization’s documents and processing stay in the region you choose (US or Australia today). Where personal data is transferred across borders — for example, account, billing, or support data handled by us or a sub-processor in another country — we rely on an appropriate safeguard, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or transfers to a country covered by an adequacy decision.
10. Cookies
Our website uses only strictly necessary cookies — to keep you signed in (authentication session), to protect forms and the live demo against bots (Cloudflare Turnstile), and to remember basic preferences. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If we later introduce analytics or other non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent first where the law requires it.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date above; material changes will be communicated as required by law.
12. Contact
Questions or complaints? Email privacy@langparse.dev or reach us via our contact page. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority: in New Zealand this is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner; if you are in the EU or UK, you may contact your local supervisory authority or the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
